Valentine's Chicken Drumsticks recipe
Kick things up with an entrée that's loaded with spice and heatyou won't be able to get enough of these zesty drumsticks.
Ingredients:
3 chicken drumsticks
1 tablespoon minced fresh ginger
1 tablespoon oyster sauce
1 tablespoon fish sauce
1 tablespoon honey
¼ cup all-purpose flour
2 egg yolks, lightly beaten
¼ cup bread crumbs
1 to 2 cups vegetable oil, for frying
3 tablespoons mayonnaise, for serving
Preparation Instructions:
1) Clean drumsticks well. Cut through one side of drumstick and open meat with a knife, and push it down to the bone.
2) Combine ginger, oyster sauce, fish sauce, and honey in a shallow bowl; add drumsticks and toss to coat. Cover and chill 4 hours.
3) Place flour, eggs, and bread crumbs in 3 separate small bowls. Remove drumsticks from marinade, shaking off excess liquid. Dip into flour, then eggs, then bread crumbs, shaking off excess. Place coated drumsticks on a baking sheet.
4) Heat a wok over high; add enough oil to fill at least 1-inch deep. Add drumsticks and cook until golden brown; drain on paper towels and repeat with remaining drumsticks. Serve with mayonnaise.
