Valentine's Breakfast Biscuits recipe
Treat your partner to a morning full of loveand cocoa-speckled love biscuits.
Ingredients:
1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
2/3 cup sugar
1 teaspoon baking soda
¼ teaspoon salt
10 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted, warm
6 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
1 egg
6 tablespoons milk
Whipped cream, for serving
Fresh sliced berries, for serving
Preparation Instructions:
1) Preheat oven to 400°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
2) In a large bowl, sift together flour, sugar, a baking soda, and salt. In a separate medium bowl, mix butter and cocoa powder together. Add egg and milk; mix well. Add milk mixture to flour mixture; fold gently until just mixed.
3) Transfer mixture to a lightly floured surface; form into a 10-by-5-inch rectangle. Wrap and chill 15 minutes.
4) Using heart-shaped cookie cutters, cut about 8 to 10 shapes from chilled dough. Transfer to prepared baking sheet.
5) Bake 11 to 13 minutes, until tops of biscuits are golden and just cracked. Serve warm with cream and berries.
