Blackberry Valentines recipe

Create a romantic dessert with simple store-bought ingredients. Your date will never know how easy this elegant treat was to prepare.

Ingredients:

1 store-bought pound cake
1 pint blackberries, divided
2 tablespoons sugar
1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
½ cup chilled whipping cream

Preparation Instructions:

1) Slice pound cake into 4 slices, each 1-inch thick. Using a heart-shaped cookie cutter, cut hearts from each slice of cake. Set aside.

2) Combine 1 cup blackberries and sugar in a large bowl; crush with a fork. Add remaining 1 cup blackberries and lemon juice; mix well. Set aside.

3) Whip cream in a large bowl until soft peaks form. Set aside.

4) To assemble: Place 1 heart on serving plate; spoon blackberry mixture over. Top with another heart. Top with a dollop of whipped cream and another spoon of blackberry mixture. Repeat with remaining ingredients for each serving.
